Hi from sunny Singapore
Just a quick update on last night’s marvellous gastronomic experience. Tatsuya Japanese Restaurant is located at the lobby level of Park Hotel on orchard road. It is quite an institution among japanese cuisine afficionados in Singapore.
The place is quite small and hence packed most of the time. Last night was no exception. Not having booked a table, we were relegated to seats at the counter. Good for me though cos I got to take these pics!

Can Salmon be TOO fresh?

I swear I heard the Beach Boys when I tasted this California Maki

Unagi kabayaki… must order one

Meticulously filleting a super fresh fish…

Prepping the Wagyu Beef for searing

The blowtorch being put to good use

Jangan luan kuat apinya wang!

The masterpiece!

Whoa. The pictures look a treat!
When you bit into the california maki, the whole room went dark, spotlight’s on you.. and the beach boys surrounded you and sang “kokomo” or “surfin usa”
can you tell i have a vivid imagination? ahakz
Sorry to ask but can you kindly confirm that the meat and poultry is halal please. thanks.
when you say “super fresh” does that mean the fish was still moving when the chef was cutting it up? I’ve seen on tv how eels were skinned and the meat was still twitching -shudder-
okay maybe not THAT super fresh! *urrrghhh*
You got me at the salmon sashimi… now I’ve to get one a.s.a.p :p
