Seared Wagyu Beef Sashimi Anyone?

by anakbrunei on September 23, 2008

Hi from sunny Singapore :) Just a quick update on last night’s marvellous gastronomic experience. Tatsuya Japanese Restaurant is located at the lobby level of Park Hotel on orchard road. It is quite an institution among japanese cuisine afficionados in Singapore.

The place is quite small and hence packed most of the time. Last night was no exception. Not having booked a table, we were relegated to seats at the counter. Good for me though cos I got to take these pics!

When you bit into the california maki, the whole room went dark, spotlight’s on you.. and the beach boys surrounded you and sang “kokomo” or “surfin usa”

when you say “super fresh” does that mean the fish was still moving when the chef was cutting it up? I’ve seen on tv how eels were skinned and the meat was still twitching -shudder-
