Hj Ismadey Hj Hussin’s luck changed overnight when he was announced as the recipient of B$100,000 Inaugural Quarterly Wish Award, last night. His sincerity in having to leave his education at an early age to support his family and provide them with a better home finally paid off when his wish was granted by the BIBD Wish Campaign.
The third award presentation of the Wish Campaign was held at the Rizqun Coffeehouse last night, followed by tea reception with the 11 awardees. In attendance as the guest of honour was YAM Pg Anak Khairul Khalil bin Pg Syed Hj Jaafari.
Ten other awardees also had their wishes granted on the same night. Noorafizah Hj Harun, Hjh Rosni Hj Hassan, Nurulhuda Izzati Abdullah, Mohamad Fajri Tengah, Ismail Suhaili, Hj Ludin Moksin, Peter bin Satu, Hjh Rosnita Hj Lakat, Hjh Norain Hj Ali Hussin and Dk Hjh Sofiana Hj Sulaiman were each given B$8,000 to help achieve their dreams.
Hj Mohd Rozaiman Dato Seri Laila Jasa Seri Abdul Rahman, the head of BIBD’s Consumer Bank Department delivered the opening speech in which he relates to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s recent titah on the extension of the retirement age to 60 years and the implementation of Supplemental Contribution Scheme.
"In the three months that the Wish Campaign has been running, we have received enthusiastic response and witnessed the eagerness of Bruneians to share with us their personal journeys. As the campaign progresses, we see Wish-Makers putting more thought into their Wish Stories and showing maturity in their plans."
