At the same time, BIBD is keen to partner with local institutions to create alliances to improve access and create more opportunities for the ease of doing business in Brunei Darussalam, while improving the infrastructure for a faster and more secure digital economy. Its first alliance came earlier in the year by powering Progresif Pay, Progresif’s digital payment solution.

A first for Brunei Darussalam, the BIBD NEXGEN Wallet will allow BIBD customers to perform NFC (Near Field Communication) payments using their NFC supported android devices at merchants via the BIBD NEXGEN Mobile application.

This latest technological addition creates a fast and secure alternative to cash payments as the supporting technology and security makes payments seamless, with the added benefit of allowing payments to be made offline (without access to the internet). This can be used at any contactless-enabled terminal at more than thirty million merchants worldwide.

BANK Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) yesterday introduced a new product range for its Perdana Privilege Banking service, offered to high networth customers.

Previously known as the Perdana World Banking, the service offers exclusive products, bank facilities and services to clients who have a gross monthly income of $10,000, an investment of $100,000 or a total financing balance of $500,000 at the start of their relationship with the bank, BIBD’s website states.

“The new BIBD Perdana banking proposition aims to enrich the banking experience of their affluent clients through dynamic banking solutions and experiences,” said Javed Ahmad, managing director of BIBD, at the launching ceremony.

The service now offers members complimentary priority passes granting access to airport lounges worldwide and better returns on Hadiah points, the bank’s loyalty scheme, when using their BIBD Platinum credit card, said Javed.

A bank statement said that members of the Perdana banking experience will also receive discounts on takaful products on personal and commercial line packages, naqd (overdraft) packages, and invitations to exclusive Perdana events along with attractive tarrifs on BIBD’s other products and services.

Javed said that the new range of perks was the bank’s response to market expectations of a competitive proposition for the segment.

“Perdana was created specifically with the Bruneian customer in mind – and not a force fit of features offered by other banks, some of which may have very little relevance to the needs of our clients,” said Javed.

Minister of Education Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Hj Awang Abu Bakar Hj Apong, who officiated the event, said BIBD has been able to compete with internationally recognised banks and leverage opportunities to its advantage.

“They at the same time inspired other local financial institutions by showing them that Brunei too has the capability to rub shoulders with the world’s best”, said the former chairman of the Islamic Bank of Brunei, one of BIBD’s predecessor banks, in his opening speech.

The ceremony also saw the launching of the bank’s Perdana branch in Kiulap.

The new Panaga Branch also houses E- Banking Services which includes facilities such as an e-Kiosk, CDM, CQM & two ATM machines for speedy and seamless banking transactions and cash withdrawals and deposits. This new fusion of technological advancements and constant upgrading of its customer service delivery allows for the best achievable results as BIBD’s services are better streamlined to quickly accommodate to the needs and requirements of BIBD customers.

BIBD today organised its 3rd Home Showcase event at the The Mall, Gadong which was held to highlight all of BIBD’s Home Financing packages to BIBD customers along with BIBD’s various partners in the home building and renovation industries.

The Guest of Honor at the event was Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Normah Suria Hayati Binti PJDSMDSU (Dr) Haji Mohd Jamil Al-Sufri, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

The event started with opening remarks from BIBD Managing Director, Yang Mulia Javed Ahmad, where he touched on how excited he was to be launching the 3rd edition of BIBD’s showcase with the presence of all of BIBD’s partners at the showcase, in their efforts to truly deliver a one stop solution for everyone interested in renovating or getting into their dream house.

BIBD has also prepared special incentives packages for those who are applying for any of the Home Financing packages, where the first 50 successful applications above BND 35,000 will receive one CBTL coffee machine. There is also a promotion on offer for other financings such as education and overdrafts whereby an iPod Shuffle awaits the first 24 applicants for these packages.

BIBD today organised its 3rd Home Showcase event at the The Mall, Gadong which was held to highlight all of BIBD’s Home Financing packages to BIBD customers along with BIBD’s various partners in the home building and renovation industries.

The Guest of Honor at the event was Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Normah Suria Hayati Binti PJDSMDSU (Dr) Haji Mohd Jamil Al-Sufri, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

The event started with opening remarks from BIBD Managing Director, Yang Mulia Javed Ahmad, where he touched on how excited he was to be launching the 3rd edition of BIBD’s showcase with the presence of all of BIBD’s partners at the showcase, in their efforts to truly deliver a one stop solution for everyone interested in renovating or getting into their dream house.

BIBD has also prepared special incentives packages for those who are applying for any of the Home Financing packages, where the first 50 successful applications above BND 35,000 will receive one CBTL coffee machine. There is also a promotion on offer for other financings such as education and overdrafts whereby an iPod Shuffle awaits the first 24 applicants for these packages.

The event also offers promotions such as the application, usage and security features of BIBD’s Debit Card. With every new debit card application, including conversions from ATMs, cardholders will automatically be entitled to receive 1,000 BIBD Hadiah Points into their account.

Baiduri Bank officially unveiled the much anticipated “Baiduri Deals” today. Teaming up with a Bruneian App developer, Baiduri Bank developed this app with its objectives of improving customer’s experience as an added-value and convenience to their lifestyle and allowing merchants to offer all year round offers,monthly deals, last minute deals and super deals. It is also the first bank in Brunei to introduce a specific marketing app.

Baiduri Deals is available on both App store and Google play and is free for download.

In conjunction with the launching, there will be promotions to be won by customers who download this app. The bank’s social media channels will be shouting out these activities so customers are encouraged to stay tuned.

One of the app’s key features is the electronic coupons (e-Coupons) which offer great deals to customers. Just like coupons in its traditional sense, app users can redeem e-Coupons through Baiduri Deals App at participating merchant outlets. The e-Coupons will be available to both Baiduri and non-Baiduri customers.

Redeeming the coupons is simple and easy. All customers need to do is to present their smartphones showing the e-Coupon to the cashier when making payments to avail of the discounts.

Baiduri Deals is part of the bank’s digital marketing strategy in having better connection with the customers. “Our plan is to introduce Baiduri Deals progressively into the market so that we are able to gauge customer as well as merchant response to the concept of e-Coupons. But there are a lot more deals and e-Coupons in the pipelines,” said Mr Ti Eng Hui, Deputy General Manager for Retail Banking and Branch Network of Baiduri Bank.

Baiduri Deals has a feature called “Benefits” where merchants who offer all-year-round discounts are conveniently listed so that Baiduri Cardholders can easily refer. These merchants can be searched alphabetically, by location or by the following categories, lifestyle, Food & Beverage, Beauty, Tech & Gadgets.

The Baiduri Deals cover all product and services under Baiduri Bank Group. It also includes several features that are aimed to keep customers informed about the latest bank promotions and news, foreign exchange rates which are updated daily as well as branch and ATM locations.

Pierre Imhof, CEO of Baiduri Bank says that the bank is constantly thinking up of new and innovative ways to create convenience and added value to meet the needs and demands of different customer segments.
